Al-Awrad Al-Fathiyyah (English Translation)

Al-Awrad Al-Fathiyyah is a discourse on the oneness and attributes of the Almighty Allah which was authored by Hazrat Mir Sayyid ‘Ali Hamadani (R.A) (1314-1385). It comprises of three sections — praises of the Almighty, salutations to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and the supplications section entitled Dua-al-Riqab. The great Sayyid — also known as Shah-i-Hamadan gifted it to the people of Kashmir and it is recited loudly in various congregations throughout the Kashmir valley every day.

This booklet is a non-verbatim English translation of the Al-Awrad Al-Fathiyyah, authored by Gulzar Mufti in collaboration with the Shah-i-Hamadan Institute of Islamic Studies, University of Kashmir Srinagar. It is hoped that with increasing use of English as a popular mode of communication regular readers of the Awrad, our current and future generations, and those interested in the subject would find it helpful to grasp the meaning of this masterly treatise in a language with which they are better conversed.
